Checking Out and Editing a Rule

Check out a rule to prevent others from altering it while you work on it. If it is still in read-only mode, you will have to enter the edit mode to make changes.
Log on, select a project, and open the ruleset containing the rule. Click the rule name to open the rule. You do not need to check out the ruleset to check out a rule.
  1. With the rule open, click the Check Out icon.
  2. Click the Edit icon if necessary.
The Rule Editing page appears and the editing features are activated.
Note: The Cancel Edit icon changes the editing state to read-only, and it does not revert the changes you made. To revert to the original state, use the Cancel Check Out icon to undo the changes. If you click the Save icon or the Check In icon, Falcon saves the changes made before you clicked the Cancel Edit icon.
Important: If you press F5 (Refresh) while you are editing a rule, you will return to the project list. Any changes you made and have not saved are lost.
  3. Submit the rule for approval.
Items that are submitted for approval are locked until they are approved or rejected.
  4. (Optional) If you want to cancel the approval submission, you can set the approval status to In Progress to continue working on the rule.

The rule cannot be deployed if it is not approved.
