Deleting a User-Defined Variable

Important: You cannot delete user-defined variables (UDVs) that are currently in use by other rules. It is not recommended that you rename a UDV. Instead, delete all references to the UDV, delete it, and create a new UDV.
  1. To delete a UDV, first remove any reference to it in all rulesets.
  2. Access the UDV/UDP Management project.
  3. Select the appropriate group.
    • If you are deleting an account-level UDV, select Account UDV Management.
    • If you are deleting a customer-level UDV, select Customer UDV Management.
    • If you are deleting a service-level UDV, select Service UDV management.
  4. Select the appropriate data type (Integer, Real, or String UDV Management).
  5. Click the Check Out icon and click the Edit icon if it is not already in edit mode.
  6. Click the Delete icon for the UDV you wish to delete.
  7. A confirmation dialog will appear. Click Yes to delete the UDV.
  8. Click the Save icon.
  9. Click the Check In icon to check in the changes.
  10. Submit the deletion for approval.
