Deleting a User-Defined Variable
![]() | Important: You cannot delete user-defined variables (UDVs) that are currently in use by other rules. It is not recommended that you rename a UDV. Instead, delete all references to the UDV, delete it, and create a new UDV.

- To delete a UDV, first remove any reference to it in all rulesets.
- Access the UDV/UDP Management project.

Select the appropriate group.
- If you are deleting an account-level UDV, select Account UDV Management.
- If you are deleting a customer-level UDV, select Customer UDV Management.
- If you are deleting a service-level UDV, select Service UDV management.
- Select the appropriate data type (Integer, Real, or String UDV Management).
- Click the Check Out icon and click the Edit icon if it is not already in edit mode.
- Click the Delete icon for the UDV you wish to delete.
- A confirmation dialog will appear. Click Yes to delete the UDV.
- Click the Save icon.
- Click the Check In icon to check in the changes.
- Submit the deletion for approval.
